What we do not collect
There are no accounts, no sign-up, no comment system, no newsletter and no contact form on this site. We do not ask for your name, address, phone number or payment details, and we do not build profiles of individual readers.
What is collected automatically
- Server access logs. Our web server records the requested address, the time, the referring page and the user-agent string. These logs exist for security and abuse prevention, are retained for a short period, and are not used to identify individuals.
- Aggregate traffic statistics. We count page views in aggregate to see which recipes are useful. Aggregate counts are not tied to an identity.
Cookies and advertising
This site is supported by advertising and takes part in the Google AdSense programme. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- The DoubleClick cookie is used by Google to serve interest-based advertising across the web. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

Advertising is served independently of the editorial content of this site. Advertisers do not see the recipes you read, and naming a hardware model in a recipe is never a paid placement.

Children
This site is aimed at adults who install and maintain their own home automation. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Third-party links
Recipes sometimes name hardware vendors. Those links leave this site, and the destination's own privacy policy applies from the moment you arrive.
